I began the project by researching key competitors, such as Boom Battle Bar, to understand what they did well and how their online presence contributed to their success. This research provided valuable insights into industry standards, booking flows and the features that appeal most to users. With this knowledge I proceeded to design wireframes, mapping out user flows that would allow for easy navigation and seamless integration with third-party software.
A key challenge was incorporating group package bookings and ensuring compatibility with Rollr, the software used to manage bookings. I held consultations with the Rollr integration team to fully understand the technical possibilities and align the site’s functionality with the client’s requirements.
After presenting the wireframes and overall design to the client they were impressed with how I captured the essence of the venue and enhanced the user experience. I also worked closely with developers during the build phase to describe my vision for how the site should animate and function, ensuring it had the right balance of usability and standout features to set Kaboodle apart from its competitors.
